Nosy School District Secretly Captured Thousands Of Images Of Students

In February, you probably heard that Philadelphia’s Lower Merion School District remotely activated the webcams of students’ school-provided Macbooks on multiple occasions.  42 times to be exact.  The school snapped thousands of photos in all, and many of them captured minors who weren’t fully clothed, or were sleeping.  The school district repeatedly claimed that the remote-activation system only existed in case of theft.  However, what are the odds that a webcam stream could reveal location details?  It’s not very practical.

The Philadelphia Inquirer has all the latest news about the story, so be sure to check out their site.
