Facebook Game Updates

Everyone has that friend or friends that all they use Facebook for is to play those stupid games or take those weird quizzes. You may be one of those people! That’s ok! Facebook users can fight against these people!

This is a tip that has been around for a while but I don’t know if many people know about it. All I ever hear is people complaining about this when there is a super easy fix! Just follow this quick tutorial that will show you how to get these game updates under control.

Everyone recognizes these horribly annoying little notices that clog up your homepage on Facebook. Do something about them!

  • Step 1 – Hover your mouse over the specific update you never want to see again. Notice as soon as your cursor is over that update a little button appears in the upper right hand corner of it. This button says ‘Hide’. Now click this button.
  • Step 2 – Now that you have hit the initial ‘Hide’ button you are given three options. You can hide the person that posted it, hide the game in general (no matter who posts it), or cancel, if that’s not what you wanted to do. But it is what you want to do, trust me.
  • Step 3 – Receive the confirmation that it is hidden and never see that update again! Yes, it really is that easy!

Now of course you can always reverse this by going into your options and finding the settings for it. Just in case.

One of the other ways you can use this is to block specific people. Say there is one person that added you as a friend no matter how many times you declined it. You finally add them so you don’t have to see the notification any more. Everyone does it, it’s ok. Now that is the only person you see on your homepage anymore. Block that specific person without de-friending them. Much more humane.
