Twitter Starts Prompting Users To Fill Out Their Profile Details

The best way for social networking services to connect their users is by using their profile details, such as their name, bio, location, etc.  Unfortunately, many users don’t even bother to fill out this information when they sign up for a service.  Recently, Twitter has started prompting its existing users to do so.

A new overlay entitled, “Be Found on Twitter” has started popping up on Twitter.  It pops up randomly when you go to the Twitter website.

It reads:

We were hoping you could help us make it easier for people to discover their friends and colleagues on Twitter. Review your settings below to make sure the people you care about can easily find you.

It asks you to enter your name, bio, location, and email address.  If you have already entered your information, it shows that info.  Your bio and location are optional fields.

This isn’t a bad idea because of Twitter’s increasing popularity.  It’s gotten up to 50 million tweets a day!
